Your privacy comes first

We don't collect your data.
We never have.

At Spin The Wheelly, everything happens locally in your browser. Your entries, images, and results never leave your device. There's no account, no tracking, no analytics, and no server that ever sees what you're spinning for.

This page explains exactly what we do — and more importantly, what we don't do — with any information while you use our site.

1Information We Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. Not your name, not your email, not your IP address, not your entries, not your images, not your results.

Everything you type into the wheel — names, choices, custom entries, uploaded images — stays in your browser's memory and is never sent to any server.

Short version: if you spin the wheel, we have no idea what you spun for. That's the whole point.

2Local Storage

The only thing we store on your device is a tiny local preference: your light or dark mode choice. This is saved using your browser's localStorage API and stays entirely on your computer.

  • What is stored: a single key called theme with the value light or dark.
  • Where it's stored: locally in your browser only.
  • Is it sent anywhere: no. It never leaves your device.
  • How to remove it: clear your browser's site data for spinthewheelly.com at any time.

We do not store your entries, your spins, your results, your images, or anything else you type into the wheel.

3Third-Party Services

We keep third-party services to an absolute minimum. Currently, we use only one:

  • Google Fonts — to display the Inter typeface throughout the site. When your browser loads the page, it makes a request to fonts.googleapis.com to fetch the font files. Google may see your IP address as part of that request. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.

We do not use any advertising networks, tracking pixels, social media embeds, or content delivery networks beyond the font loader.

4Analytics & Tracking

We do not run our own analytics. There's no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Fathom, no custom tracking of any kind. We don't know how many people visit, where they come from, what device they use, or what they spin for.

We do not use:

  • Tracking cookies
  • Fingerprinting scripts
  • Session recording tools
  • Heatmap trackers
  • Advertising IDs
  • Any form of cross-site tracking

The wheel simply doesn't need any of that to work — so we don't include it.

5Children's Privacy

Spin The Wheelly is safe for all ages, including children under 13. Because we don't collect any personal information from anyone, we don't collect it from children either.

Teachers and parents often use the wheel in classrooms and at home — and we take that responsibility seriously. There's no chat, no messaging, no user accounts, and no way for anyone (including us) to identify who used the wheel.

If you believe a child has somehow submitted personal information through our site, please contact us — though since we don't collect any data, this shouldn't be possible.

6Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Because we don't collect personal data, most data-subject rights are automatically satisfied. Still, here's how your rights apply:

  • Right to access — there's nothing to access, because we store nothing on our end.
  • Right to deletion — there's nothing to delete. (You can clear your theme preference by clearing your browser's site data.)
  • Right to portability — no data to export.
  • Right to object — no data processing to object to.
  • Right to opt out of sale — we don't sell any data, ever.

Whether you're in the EU, UK, California, Brazil, or anywhere else with privacy laws, the answer is the same: your data never leaves your device. There's nothing for us to expose, sell, or lose.

7Data Security

The strongest security is not having data to protect in the first place. Because we don't store, transmit, or process any personal information, there's essentially nothing to breach.

All wheel logic — random number generation, wheel rendering, image handling, and result calculation — runs inside your browser using standard, well-reviewed web APIs:

  • crypto.getRandomValues() for cryptographically secure randomness
  • The Canvas and SVG APIs for rendering
  • The FileReader API for image uploads (kept local)
  • The Web Audio API for sound effects
  • The SpeechSynthesis API for text-to-speech

8Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect improvements to the site or clarifications in the wording. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

If a future version of Spin The Wheelly ever required collecting any information (we have no plans for this), we would clearly announce the change here before it goes into effect — and would never do so silently.
