What Is a Random Name Picker?

A random name picker is a fair, visual way to choose one person from a list. Instead of picking favourites or drawing straws, you add the names to a spinning wheel and let chance decide.

Our free Random Name Picker uses the browser's cryptographically secure random number generator, so every name on the wheel has an equal chance of being selected. No hidden bias, no favourites, no repeats — just fair random picks.

How to Use It in 3 Steps

  1. Add names — Type one name per line in the text box (up to 50 names).
  2. Hit SPIN — Click the black SPIN button and watch the wheel spin with suspenseful animation.
  3. Reveal the winner — The wheel lands on a random name and shows the winner with confetti and sound.

That's it — no signup, no downloads, no waiting. The winner is chosen before the spin even starts, and the wheel is purely for fun.

Frequently Asked Questions

Up to 50 names per wheel. For best readability, keep names short — around 15 characters or fewer.

Is the pick truly random and fair?

Yes. Every spin uses the browser's built-in crypto.getRandomValues for cryptographically secure randomness. Each name has an equal chance of winning.
